Principal Uses
FLORREA HX series flocculant was specifically developed for high performance settling and clarification of digester blow-off slurry and thickening of washed red mud. It has shown the response of good settling and
compaction, commensurate with excellent clarities in several alumina operations.
Application
FLORREA HX series flocculant is dissolved in condensate or weak solids free liquor (5-20g/l NaOH) to make a stock solution. The stock solution is further diluted and mixed with decanter feed via dual addition. .A portion of the solution is added into the feed line and the rest into the feedwell.
Preparation of Stock Solutions
FLORREA HX series flocculant should be thoroughly mixed in the storage container prior to initial use. A tank mixer should be run for about 30 minutes to ensure preparation of smooth, uniform product.
Handling and Storage
FLORREA HX series flocculant should be stored at temperatures between 5-30°C. Do not allow the product to freeze. Avoid the use of aluminum, copper, iron or mild steel in storage systems. Storage in glass, stainless steel, plastic or epoxy-lined containers is recommended.
